We’re already planning for the future

Talofa and welcome to the official website of The People’s Party - Your Party.

The People’s Party has come about as a response to the ever-growing public concerns over the high-handed style of leadership that has plagued our country under the stewardship of the Human Rights Protection Party (HRPP) for the last two decades. Of particular public concern is the recent decision by the Government to change the side of the road for our vehicles to travel on. The manner in which this very important policy decision (with profound consequences on the lives of our people) has been brought about leaves a lot to be desired and , has become the real motivating force that has polarised into the formation of this new political organisation.

The People’s Party subscribe to the most fundamental maxim of democracy, which is best encapsulated in the famous words of President Lincoln, as the “Government of the people, for the people, by the people.” The founders of our nation wanted nothing less for us. Those enduring words of one of the greatest forefathers of democracy is a constant reminder to all generations who subscribe to the tenets of true democracy regardless of race creed or colour that true democratic power can only be properly exercised, if it is exercised for the good and welfare of the people. Where democratic authority is abused and where the will and voice of the people are ignored, then there is no true democracy .When there is no true democracy then the people must rise up to re-establish what is truly in their domain, and to remove from office those who have no respect for the combined will of the nation.

Now is such a time. The task and challenge is as much yours as it is ours. It is when we all recognize our combined responsibility and duty that we can all say with unison of voice and purpose, that ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. Take a good look at yourself in the mirror then ask yourself, What can I do to correct this wrong? Shall I continue to ignore my responsibility?

The People’s Party has half of the answer; the other half rests with you. Join us in our journey and let your vision be our vision. Let your concerns be our concerns. Let your victory be our victory. Together, let us reinstitute true democracy in our nation and make our forefathers, the founders of our Constitution proud.
